Technology & Process

We use a range of modern techniques which enable us to repair most minor cosmetic damage to your vehicle, without the need for expensive replacement parts or more costly traditional repair.

By using state-of-the-art technology ooops! can repair trim or panel damage cleanly and effectively – and usually in no more than an hour.

Trust us to make it better!

Paintless Dent Removal

Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) is the art of using special tools and rods to massage those dents out of body panels.  This means that ooops! can restore panels to their original condition without the need to paint them – and the work can be carried out while you wait.

Interior Trim:

We do this by using a ‘waterbased’ technology – a coating with dyes that do not rub off and are not affected by humidity, chemical cleaners or solvents.  They are made to repel water not just resist it, and are designed to withstand Ultra Violet fading for up to 10 years.

Our technicians will use a machine called a spectrophotometer to take a reading from the vinyl or plastic in your car.  As well as measuring the colour it also measures the gloss level - and can even match a flat or textured surface, taking different lighting conditions into account!

Leather repair

Our technician will use a machine called a spectrophotometer to take a reading from the leather in your car. As well as measuring the colour it also measures the gloss level - and can even match a flat or textured surface, taking different lighting conditions into account!

The paints we use are made with high intensity pigments that give excellent colour matching and long-term stability. The basecoat is a clear, water-based coating that adheres to all leathers.

The coatings use dyes which won’t rub off and are designed to withstand a 21 stone person getting in and out of a leather car seat 60,000 times over a four day period! In addition, they are not affected by humidity, chemical cleaners or solvents; they repel water and are also designed to withstand Ultra Violet fading for up to 10 years.

tripleO

The tripleO bonds to, and breathes with the paint.  It is not a topical application like wax that melts or washes off in a relatively short period.
tripleO utilises nano-technology, expanding into the pores of the paint to provide a very smooth surface which helps minimise the build up of dirt on the surface and provides a deeper, longer lasting shine.

tripleO pre-eminent protection system is a patented process which blends elements to provide a chemically stable protectant that resists environmental, organic and inorganic chemical attacks to the painted surface.

It is designed to prevent cosmetic damage due to chemical interaction of environmental agents such as oxidation from UV rays, tree sap, acid rain, bug or bird droppings and water spots. It is always best to wash or remove environmental elements as soon as possible after they occur on your vehicle using your tripleO trigger spray.

With tripleO and a little care, you can prevent these elements from becoming permanent reminders upon your vehicle.

Restoration:

Stripping – this part of the process is carried out with great attention to detail.  Every nut, bolt, screw and clip is recorded so that they all get put back in exactly the same position.

Prepping – all surfaces that require painting are sanded back as far as necessary.  We believe that like everything in life, preparation is 80% of the finished job.

Priming – all areas to be painted are primed.  The car is then baked and we ‘flat’ the primed areas ready for painting.

Painting – most vehicles today use a base coat that is often pearlescent or metallic, and is water-based, environmentally friendly and air-dried.  We have one of the best spray booths in Dorset, where the total volume of air changes six times per minute.  After the base coat is air-dried a top coat lacquer is applied and baked off – and it is this that creates the protection that gives your paintwork resilience, longevity and clarity.

Detailing - After coming out of the spray booth, your car is detailed, a quality check is carried out by the technician and then additionally checked by the shift manager to make sure it’s in tip top condition and ready to go
